Karan Johar, who has worked non-stop for the last year, has taken a short break from work on his birthday to New York, where he plans to rest, relax and retail. The actor rang in his 46th birthday at midnight with a couple of friends. He threw an intimate terrace party which included some of his good friends including Bhumi Pednekar.

Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram to send best wishes to her mentor who launched her in Bollywood with Student of the Year. She wrote, “Happy birthday my father, my friend, my life teacher, my selfie-teacher!
